Our client is an owner and operator of terminals and ports both in the UK and in Europe. A highly respected and established business, they are a leading provider of stevedoring and logistics solutions to the European roll-on, roll-off and automotive and general cargo sectors at a number of key locations.
Their port in Southern Lincolnshire handles around 500,000 tonnes of general and bulk cargo annually and provides 21,000m2 of dedicated covered warehousing, open storage facilities and elevation for bulk cargoes.
They are now seeking to recruit an experienced heavy plant maintenance professional to work within their engineering team.
·To undertake planned maintenance and reactive repairs of port equipment and infrastructure ensuring that safe and fully functional equipment is available to meet the operational and commercial requirements of the business
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
·Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs to port equipment including mobile cranes, for lift trucks, commercial vehicles and trailers
·General housekeeping duties around the port estate, warehouse, offices and buildings·Undertake all work in compliance with the Company's health, safety and environmental procedures
·A relevant NVQ or City & Guilds engineering qualification or higher
·IOSH Working Safely certification desirable but not essential
·Steel fabrication and welding skills desirable but not essential
·Full UK driving licence
·Experience of working with heavy plant and machinery such as mobile cranes, fork lift trucks and heavy commercial vehicles
·Preferably experience of working within a port environment
·Flexible and pro-active approach to work
·A willingness to undergo training and learn new skills
·Able to work unsupervised or as part of a team
