Description :


• To ensure that customer requirements are fully defined and agreed

• To ensure that the service is delivered in line with the agreed contract

• To closely liaise with internal departments (Operations, Technical, QHSSE, Commercial) to ensure

effective service delivery. KPI’s to include customer OTIF, QHSSE, pay loads, recovery of additional

costs, aged debt and un-invoiced revenue, customer complaint handling and customer contact

• To provide internal and external customer KPI reports to ensure compliance

• To provide customer forecasts and ensure management of fluctuations in trade levels

• To ensure the effective recovery of additional costs


• Manage customer compliance with agreed credit payment terms

• To liaise with the Sales team where appropriate to ensure that any issues are dealt with promptly and


• To maintain close customer contact and knowledge through regular and positive communication, with

supporting information / reports where required

• Fully understand the customer’s business and update the Sales team on any potential variances that

may impact upon the business

• To assist the Commercial team with the management of accounts

• To handle customer complaints in a timely and effective manner, reporting within SWIFT and assisting

with the necessary corrective actions

• To proactively identify areas for improvement and work with relevant stakeholders to achieve

successful outcomes



• Applicants must be educated to at least GCSE (‘O’ level) standard including minimum grade C in

Mathematics, English Language and German



• Strong and concise communication skills, both written and verbal

• Good grammatical and numerical skills

• Strong analytical approach to cost management

• Fully competent with IT including Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Power point / Outlook)

and preferably with experience of SWIFT



• Must have previous proven experience in a Customer Services role, ideally within a bulk transport

environment. Candidates with suitable related experience of working within a different area of the

logistics sector may be considered

• Operational knowledge of chemical products including ADR would be advantageous but is not essential



• Organised and accurate with good attention to details

• Self-motivated and able to work to strict deadlines in a fast paced, customer focused environment

• Effective personal time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks

• Good interpersonal skills and a genuine team player
