Ragged Edge Director Justin Atkin recently attended Franklin Sixth Form College’s Annual Awards Evening and was delighted to present his mentee, 17 year old Daniel Noble, with the ‘Career Academy Award’.
Career Ready is a UK wide charity linking employers with schools and colleges to open up the world of work to young people. They offer a structured programme of employer engagement that enables schools and colleges like Franklin to meet their statutory duty for careers. Justin sits on the Board of the ‘Logistics Lab’ which offers additional support to students considering a career in logistics.
Since starting on the Career Ready programme, Daniel has improved his confidence and employability skills significantly. In addition to regular mentoring meetings with Justin, Daniel also completed a summer internship after which he was offered a part time job.
Speaking of Daniel’s success Justin said, “Daniel is a willing and motivated student and is confident about his future career path. He has made the most out of every opportunity and is proactive in ensuring that he is set for the world of work. This award is recognition of his dedication and hard work and I’m absolutely thrilled to have had the pleasure of presenting him with it”.
