Essential Skills for Supervisors
Overview
The transition from team member to team leader can be a difficult one. Supervisors are key members of the management team and have the closest contact with the people who actually produce the work. It is therefore important that supervisors receive adequate support and training. Failure to ensure that they have the proper skills and knowledge to carry out their pivotal role can have a negative effect on the motivation and productivity of those whom they supervise.
The course will provide Supervisors with a comprehensive overview of the skills and techniques required to effectively manage their teams to ensure that work is undertaken in safe, compliant, effective and productive way. The learning will help Supervisors to become effective quickly and enables them to understand how their role fits into the organisation and the importance of communicating with, leading and motivating teams.
It also explores the importance of monitoring and managing absence, identifying bullying in the workplace, managing discipline and grievances, and undertaking incident investigations including effective report writing.

We use case studies, video footage, and worked examples to make the course as interactive as possible.
